Hiker & photographer Pam Davison sent some photos that are a great reminder of the fall colours at Paradise Meadows.
Big Pond is my name for the largest pond in Paradise Meadows, with the rocky peninsula on the northwest side.
Blueberry leaves give the meadows the most brilliant colour in autumn – the dwarf blueberry has dark red leaves, while the bog blueberry leaves are bright red.
Beyond the meadows leading to Lake Helen Mackenzie, a boardwalk skirts around the pond I call Brooks Pond, since it reflects Mt Allan Brooks when approaching from the north.
Thanks Pam for the photos! I’m looking forward to another great season for photography in Strathcona Park.
