A recent trip report to Crest Mountain , in Strathcona Park near Gold River , is on the Nature Student blog .
The steep trail gains 1120m elevation over 4.7 km to the tarn & subalpine plateau viewing spot, with another 1.5 km and 120m elevation to the actual high point of Crest Mountain. Hiking time to the plateau level is about 2-1/2 to 4 hrs on a steep but well-built trail. There is a bridge crossing between the Drum Lakes at the bottom and a stream crossing on a sturdy log at the 550 m elevation.
