Strathcona Wilderness Institute

Early Winter

The last few days of stormy weather have resulted in snow at the Paradise Meadows elevation of 1100m. Some colourful photos from just before the snow are on the Nature Student blog.

Snow at this elevation is a month earlier than the past several years!

Comox Valley Ground Search & Rescue are currently on the mountain looking for two overdue hikers who had planned to go up Mt. Albert Edward on the weekend – hopefully there will be a happy ending.

The Wilderness Centre will not be staffed today, & just intermittent days from now until the final day, Sun. Oct. 13.
