Just received a note from Paul Griffiths about a video on Karst landscapes in the Great Bear Rainforest, also including some footage from northern Vancouver Island. “Some of the karst filming that I helped with last summer will be airing soon on CBC’s The Nature of Things. Here’s a a link to some of the Karst footage, including the adult salmon swimming underground at the Devil’s Bath and inside the new (albeit short) cave we examined on the Central Coast,” says Paul.
The full documentary will be airing Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 8 PM on CBC-TV.
Paul will be one of the guest presenters at our Nature Camp at Buttle Lake happening June 19-22. We will be exploring Karst Creek Nature Trail on one of the outings. The short trail passes through a limestone area that includes sinkholes, disappearing & re-appearing streams, and a waterfall.
