Bright blue skies at Paradise Meadows today , with a few visitors checking out the spring-like conditions.
The parking lot at the Wilderness Centre is actually accessible to vehicles, although not quite free of snow.
On the meadows boardwalk, the snow is packed firm where people have been walking, resulting in a raised snow surface which may take longer to melt from the boardwalk than off the meadows.
The ponds & creeks are melting with temperatures just above zero.
The Big Pond becomes Paradise Creek which flows south , crossing the boardwalk where a beaver had made a dam several years ago.
No beavers or marmots today, but several animal tracks, probably belonging to squirrels. There were no Whiskey Jacks around but I heard Raven, Northern Flicker, and even a Trumpeter Swan overhead.
