New Blooms

A few more spring flowers are starting to bloom at Paradise Meadows! After setting up some of the Centre today, in preparation for the opening on Friday May 22, we walked around the boardwalk & saw the first shootingstar flower, as well as a few western bog-laurel blooms, and more round-leaved yellow violet.

Quite a few globeflower are now blooming, alongside the more abundant alpine white marsh-marigold. In some cases both flowers are growing side-by-side so it is easy to compare the leaves – marsh-marigold has round leaves, while globeflower leaves are divided & segmented.

We put out several plant identification signs – mostly the trees and shrubs, which are easy to identify year-round.
