Strathcona Trail Conditions from BC Parks

BC Parks has a report of Strathcona Park trail conditions on their website  here  (PDF) Some of the short nature trails around Buttle Lake are already snow free. In Paradise Meadows, they report about 1m of snow on the trails.

A reminder that backcountry camping fees will start on June 15. This includes the core fee zones along the Bedwell Lakes/Cream Lake Trail, Elk River Trail and Forbidden Plateau areas.

  1. I would just like to add that the King’s Peak trail snow starts at a point where the trail comes out of the forest onto open bluffs with views of the highway below. About 10 minutes past there, the snow begins.
The low elevation Augerpoint Nature Trail is snow free but Jack’s (Augerpoint) Trail, the snow begins past the small pond in the forest (which is about 850 m).
(BTW, I saw the elusive wolf at Buttle Lake yesterday)
