Another great fall colours hike with the Comox District Mountaineering Club today – to Rossiter & Divers Lakes. These lakes, added to Strathcona Park in 2003, are accessed via logging roads, adding some time onto the hike if starting on foot from the Strathcona Park Wilderness Centre.
The old logging road enters Strathcona Park near the north end of Rossiter Lake. On reaching the timber there are a couple of route choices- along the south end of Rossiter Lake and along Goss Creek, or through the woods direct to Divers Lake.
From Divers Lake, and only at low water, a crossing of the Goss Creek outflow from the lake is possible, to reach some beautiful ponds & meadows on the west side.
From the meadows you get different vantage points of Mt Allan Brooks & Strata Mountain, from the usual views seen from the Plateau.
