Photographer Tim Penney led a Comox District Mountaineering Club hike on Sunday, up the Elk River Trail to Landslide Lake. Tim sent a few pictures: the first two below are each a panorama of five photos.
Tim says “The trail was in great shape with almost not snow even as we approached the lake. We encountered quite a few hikers on the trail, both day trippers like ourselves and some overnighters.”
The full scale of Mt Colonel Foster can only be captured with a panorama.
This photo shows the area beside the huge landslide that followed the earthquake of 1946.
Tim says this shot is “A bit like a Bev Doolittle painting. That could be a smiley Pinto face in there..”
All photos & trip reports are appreciated! The full trip report is on the CDMC website.
