Scenic Buttle Lake Drive in Strathcona Provincial Park
The beauty of Buttle Lake and the mountains that border it in Strathcona Provincial Park, BC can be readily appreciated anytime of the year by driving the paved Westmin Road on the east side of Buttle Lake that extends from the bridge at the upper end of Buttle Lake to the bridge at the lower end of Buttle Lake and Lower Myra Falls. En-route, there are rest stops to picnic as well as scenic pullouts with markers that identify many of the mountains. Check out pictures of the drive in both fall and winter below, and make sure to enjoy the views in person.
The Westmin Road is located approximately 48 kms west of Campbell River on Highway 28 that connects to Gold River. Other mountains with roadside markers can be seen by driving west on Highway 28 en-route to Gold River past the Westmin Road.
